Previously at Anime Expo, we had held a meetup at the event in order to gather together in Japanese fashion and harajuku styles that inspire us to express ourselves with, and how we choose to style ourselves with. Excited and overwhelmed by how wonderful of a turnout we had at the con, we decided to hold a similar meetup at the Pacific Media Expo event at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California. Pacific Media Expo is well known for its fashion background as brand names such as Juliette et Justine, Angelic Pretty, Baby the Stars Shine Bright, and more have come from overseas to showcase and sell their pieces. Although our turnout was fairly small in comparison, we believe our attendees had a grand and enjoyable time nevertheless.
We hope you all are looking forward to coverage from the fashion show! Our very own Rikachuuable had the opportunity to be a model for one of the brands showcasing their line. Although we weren’t able to take a large amount of photos behind the scenes due to the requests of other brands, we are nevertheless excited to share the photos that John had taken, along with photos of our honorary harajuku day photographer Ivan Aburto had taken as well while providing details of what happened behind the scenes.
Thank you to Ivan Aburto of Ivan’s Photography for the photos provided here! We always appreciate your presence at our meetups.
Also, shoutout to Kaz from A to J connections for creating a post about us and our meetup. We truly appreciate it! http://a-to-jconnections.com/fashion/pacific-media-expo-2016-harajuku-day-meet-up
